Payday 2

Payday 2 is a first person shooter that puts you and three other people in the shoes of Dallas, Wolf, Chains and Hoxton who are notorious bank robbers returning from the first game to reek havoc in Washington D.C. This game is very similar to a real bank robbery becasue the ability to pull of a robbery successfully all depends on the crew you have selected. So if your have an idiot guarding the hostages your going to have a bad time and possibly go to prison.

The game looks beautiful and has strong polished game play that is always interesting. Every mission has the goal to steal something and bring it back to the van. How much you steal depends on how well you evade the alarms and detection. The variation that comes with each game, particularly the police and security guard placements add a level of unpredictability and fun into the same basic levels. Without this ever changing element within the game the maps would quickly become boring.

The extensive customization options provide another intensive to complete levels and also change the feeling of each game. You are able to customize your mask, abilities and guns which allows for a large amount of in game progression and rewards. This encourages people to return to the game and continue to attempt larger and larger heists with better planning. The worst part of the game would have to be the boring geometry and textures that are used to 'liven' up the inside of buildings and the constantly repeating civilian character models. I felt these things had a negative affect on the game becasue they broke the immersion that the rest of the well polished exterior provided.

In conclusion Payday 2 is a fun and immersive shooter with a fun progession system but bland level design.

Pros:
1. Multiple things to upgrade and customize such as masks, guns and abilities.
2. The levels remain the same but the strategy used must be different every time.
3. The exterior environments looks beautiful and realistic

Cons:
1. Can be terrible without good teammates.
2. Level designs are boring and easily remembered
3. The interior graphics look bland and boring

8/10
